Celebrate Children in 2010

Dear

I believe that God has spoken to me about next year in a very strong way and I want to share that with you.

I believe strongly that God's heart is for children and for those who minister to children and for that reason 2010 should be a year set aside to ‘Celebrate Children' and ‘Celebrate those who Honour Children'.

As I have thought and prayed about this over the past 2 months, I have become really excited. ‘To Celebrate' means ‘to honour, to remember and to rejoice'.

The opposite of celebrate is to dishonour and show no respect for and to forget. There is a great dishonouring of children in the world today. Alarming rates of abuse, abortion, and neglect of children. Surely God wants his people to do the opposite. This is clear from the scriptures:

Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.

Psalm 127:3-4 NLT

Wouldn't it be a wonderful thing if throughout 2010, we all stood up in various ways and gave honour to children? To accept and to respect them because every child is sacred.

This letter is advance notice and a request that you pray and share.

We will be putting out ideas that we hope every church will pick up and use to do some special things next year.

If you have any practical way you have been able to Celebrate Children in your church, please share it with us by replying to this email so we can share it with everyone.

For example, one church is having a games night for children – put on by people in the church who are not normally on the children's ministry team. The aim is to build a connection and relationship between the generations . Add to this some balloons, some special food and you have a great Celebration Party.

At Kidsreach we are also just about to finish our latest curriculum titled: Celebrate Children. This would be a great way for you to start the year. More about that in a week or so.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards

David Goodwin

Kidsreach Director.
