This specialist five day course is designed to equip children's pastors, care workers, parents, foster parents, school teachers and those in ministry to children. We train Christian workers to be professional in their approach to dealing with all children's needs. Children are developing in body, mind, soul and spirit! Christians will then effectively nurture the spiritual while helping children as they try to cope with school, friends, family and life's challenges.
Presented by David Goodwin the course looks at skills and techniques of counselling children. The course covers major issues related to counselling children who suffer from grief, neglect, abuse and trauma. It encompasses the whole counselling process including: the counselling relationship, listening skills, counselling techniques and bringing counselling to a conclusion.
Introduction Option: Monday
If you cannot come to the whole week, you can choose to come to just day one of the course: "An Introduction to Counselling" - where many of the concepts and ideas will be introduced. The remaining days of the course will cover the subjects and counselling process in detail.
A certificate of attendance will be presented to attendees of the course. More details are on the course outline which is available on request.
