Celebrate Children 2010

 Scriptures that highlight Children and the sacred trust God has placed in us to care for them.

 

When you welcome a child,  you welcome Jesus.

Luke 9:48 CEV

Then he said to his disciples, “When you welcome even a child because of me, you welcome me. And when you welcome me, you welcome the one who sent me.

 

Children belong to God's Kingdom.

Matthew 19:13-15 CEV

Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and don't try to stop them! People who are like these children belong to God's kingdom.” After Jesus had placed his hands on the children, he left.

 

Older generations are to teach children.

Psalm 78: 6-7 CEV

And he told our ancestors to teach their children, so that each new generation would know his Law and tell it to the next. Then they would trust God and obey his teachings, without forgetting anything God had done.

 

Children bring joy.

Zechariah 8:5 CEV

And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets.

 

Children need to be taught when they are young.

Ecclesiastes 12:1 CEV

Keep your Creator in mind while you are young!

 

Children are a blessing.

Psalm 127:34 CEV

Children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord.

 

There are times when all generations are to stand before God together.

2 Chronicles 20:13 CEV

And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.

 

It breaks God's heart to see a child hurt.

Matthew 18:6 CEV

It will be terrible for people who cause even one of my little followers to sin. Those people would be better off thrown into the deepest part of the ocean with a heavy stone tied around their necks!

 

God wants every child to be saved.
