Ideas that you can use to Celebrate Children.

 

Celebration Party

Have a Celebration Party in your church for children and parents.

 

Celebrate Children Sunday.

Invite outreach children (from the groups you already reach such as Rangers, Mainly Music, etc)

 

Have A Child Friendly Day In Church. 

For one day, make it a child friendly day in church.  Adjust the service, the liturgy, the sermon, the prayers, so that children can understand and children are included.  Morning tea on that day could be child-friendly food.  The prayers could be child friendly and have a sermon that is child-friendly.

 

Evening Games Night

Make an opportunity for the adults who are not normally with the children, to be involved in a special event that is run by those who do not normally have anything to do with children in the church, for the children and for those who help children.  This could be in the form of a games night.  Decorate the hall with balloons and banners.

 

Honour Your Workers

Honour the adults who honour the children.  Give a certificate of appreciation or one of the honouring bookmarks (see resources page) to those who minister to children in your church or in teaching Scripture in schools

 

Photo Gallery

Have a photo gallery to honour the children of the church.  Keep it up for one month.

 

Change Your Sunday Night Service

Have a fun filled evening of activities and games to ‘Celebrate the Children’ in your church instead of your normal Sunday Night Service.

Singing, dancing and a brief message.  Include stores of those who  have honoured children.

Give them reasons why it is great to be in children’s ministry
